𝗦𝗺𝗼𝗸𝗲-𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗮𝗽𝗲-𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 (𝗦𝗙𝗩𝗙𝗧𝗙): 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯

Republic Act No. 9211: Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003 states that both absolute and conditional bans on smoking in public places, public transport, and workplaces. Also, access restrictions for sales and use by minors, zonal restrictions up to 100m from places frequented by minors, partial bans and restrictions on Tobacco Advertising, Promotion and Sponsorships, and many more.

Municipal Mayor Esteban “Denon” SF Madrona, Jr. delivered the opening remarks and mentioned the Red Orchid Award which the Municipality of San Agustin has been receiving for three years. In relation to this, Municipal Health Officer Dr. Deogracias S. Muleta mentioned that San Agustin is one of the municipalities that were excelling in the implementation of the smoke-free ordinance which we need to focus on.

Barangay Captains, representatives from National Government Agencies as well as SB Members and selected department heads attended the stated meeting to ensure wide-spread information dissemination to the entire town. Learning, implementing, and monitoring the situation related to the smoke-free and vape-free ordinance is vital for public health, legal compliance, and creating a safer and more pleasant environment for everyone. It is important to stay informed about these regulations and advocate for their implementation and enforcement in your community.

We would like to acknowledge the Department of Health for the unwavering support and the hardworking Municipal Health Officer as well as the diligent staff of the medical establishment involved.

This is only one of the first steps to be 100% Tobacco-free! We hope to receive your support and follow the ordinances of our town.
