𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀: 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 (𝗕𝗟𝗦) 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴

The Municipal Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) in collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd), has proceeded to conduct a two-day training for Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Health Emergency Team (HERT) of San Agustin on October 3-4, 2023. The attendees include Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Coordinator Teachers, School Nurses, and Rural Health Unit (RHU) of San Agustin, Romblon.

LDRRMO IV Mr. Giovanni B. Fondevilla has delivered the welcome address. After greeting everyone on a rainy day, he talked about the importance of the training towards preventing further injuries and even death. Furthermore, Municipal Mayor Esteban “Denon” SF Madrona, Jr. was invited to give the opening remarks and he emphasized that Basic Life Support training for teachers is a valuable investment that can enhance the safety of educational environments, provide teachers with essential lifesaving skills, and contribute to the overall well-being of the school community wherein accidents could happen. As there is a gap between the distances between the school and clinic/hospitals, Mayor Denon stated that first-aid/response must be learned by the educators/school body to improve and prioritize the safety and security of the students. Lastly, Municipal Health Officer Dr. Deogracias Muleta gave an inspirational message wherein he encouraged the participants to enjoy the training and not be too pressured. Moreover, Dr. Deo acknowledged all the efforts of the facilitators, participants as well as guests who attended the program.
