Municipal Mayor Esteban โDenonโ SF Madrona, Jr. along with LDRRMO IV Giovanni B. Fondevilla, Jr. and the members of the Municipal Disaster and Risk Reduction Council have convened to discuss the challenges posed by El Niรฑo, including all drought conditions, water shortages and agricultural disruptions. The Municipal Agricultureโs Office and selected barangay captains gave each of their statements.
To cover the circumstances, the council decided to declare a state of calamity for San Agustin, Romblon due to the El Niรฑo phenomenon. SB Roland E. Abero moved that the MDRRMC recommends to the SB the declaration of the state of calamity. In relation to this, quick response funds may be used to help everyone to survive the situation.
The BFP will continue their water rationing activity and hopefully, we may able to add another vehicle to ration water supply for the constituents.
This is a nationwide crisis and social media will never resolve the problem. Kindly direct the statements towards the authorities for a proper resolution process. Remember to conserve water as El Niรฑo is assumed to last till next month.
